CASA volunteers are assigned by the juvenile court judges who want to know more about the kids who appear before them. Their job is to gather information and to ensure that the interests of the children are the main consideration in all court proceedings and interactions while they are in the care of the state. They act as the eyes and ears of the judges, helping them decide whether to reunite the children with their parents or place them in another setting.
